I took the fast train from Amsterdam to Brussels.
My first great meal was at Rugbyman II [Quai aux Briques 12]. I sat in front of the kitchen, watched the chef, the owner/waiter only spoke French and his wife came to translate. Wonderful bottle of wine but forgot to take a picture of it.
I met up with a school friend that lived in Brussels. He took me to the Butte of Lion; site of the Battle of Waterloo. I made it halfway up the 225 steps but the rain stopped me [the slate stairs became very slippery]. I will make it next time. The other site was the headquarters of the Duke of Wellington.
Grand Place Square - a festival and parade.
A chocolate tour:
A Sunday afternoon in historic Bruges, visit to medieval hospital museum and hanging out in the square in a pub.
