Review of the 2013 Europe Trip/Loire Valley

On the train and off to Chenonceaux; population 412.  I stayed at a quaint BNB Auberge du Bon Laboureur; walking distance from the train stop.

The next day, I visited my castle.  The Château de Chenonceau (French: [ʃa.to də ʃə.nɔ̃.so], also spelled Chenonceaux) is a French château spanning the River Cher, near the small village of Chenonceaux; it is one of the best-known châteaux of the Loire valley.  Catherine de' Medici used it as her favorite residence.

The afternoon I traveled to Amboise on the banks of the Loire River; it was once home of the French Royal Court.  A visit to Leonardo da Vinci home Clos Luce Manor, a must see; listed on his walls are quotations and a gallery of his amazing inventions.

And down the street the castle Chateau d'Amboise.  It was said da Vinci had a tunnel directly connected to the castle.  He was invited to Amboise by King Francis I of France.
